Instructions for a new student:
1. First, please fill out and return the New Student Application for 2016-2017(Click here) 2. Second, schedule an interview and bring your completed Application then. Contact us by phone, email, or follow this Contact Us link.
3. The interview with the instructor will be held at the Piano School and will last approximately 20-30 minutes. New students and parents/guardians will learn about the music programs and performance opportunities available, the methods used which are tailored to the individual student's abilities, and the policies at the Piano School.
4. Students transferring from other studios should bring their previous books and materials that he/she used and be prepared to play a piece or scale for the instructor. This audition is optional for each student but is highly recommended.
5. Students at the Piano School receive a full musical and piano education including: a. Note reading skills. b. Sight reading. c. Music theory. d. Music history. e. Ear training. f. Piano ensembles.
6. Several learning methods are offered including:
Suzuki Method for Piano: Ages 3-7 Suzuki Methods supplemented with traditional methods: Ages 4-8 Traditional Methods: Ages 6-18 and Adult Alfred Bastien Gillock Hal Leonard Student Library Thompson
