About the Piano School:
The Piano School of Gaithersburg, Maryland (PSG) was established in June, 1999 in Montgomery Village, MD and moved to the present location in September, 2002. PSG has continued to grow every year. The Piano School provides top quality piano instruction and service to metropolitan Washington DC including Gaithersburg, Germantown, Clarksburg, Laytonsville, Damascus, Mount Airy, Silver Spring, Rockville, Potomac, and Bethesda. The students come diverse backgrounds, international in scope. One of the goals of our school is to create a joyful, enthusiastic atomsphere that enriches our students' learning through a well-rounded and complete musical education. Students are provided with several opportunities to perform and share their artistry with others.

| The director and lead teacher, Dr. Eugenia Posey-Marcos (Mrs. Marcos to her students), has over 40 years experience teaching children and adults piano, organ and keyboard, music theory, music appreciation and history, piano ensemble and accompanying in Gaithersburg, Maryland, and previously in Georgia, Tennessee, Connecticut. She has a Bachelor of Music (Wesleyan College, Magna cum laude) and Masters of Music (Hartt School of the University of Hartford) in piano performance and piano teaching. She has had additional study at Georgia State University and Suzuki training in Atlanta, Georgia. She was granted the Ph.D. degree from East Tennessee State University in 1998. She is an active member of the American College of Musicians (National Guild of Piano Teachers) and belongs to the National, Maryland State, and Montgomery County Music Teacher's Associations. She is a founding member of the National Music Certificate Program and is a life member of Sigma Alpha Iota (the International Professional Music Fraternity) and Kappa Delta Epsilon (the International Professional Education Sorority). She has performed as soloist and as a professional accompanist throughout the eastern United States and has performed in Italy and Austria. She has served as a church musician/organist, pianist and accompanist since the age of twelve and is currently serving as choir director and organist in Germantown, Maryland.

The PIANO SCHOOL is a well-equipped studio with three acoustic pianos: a YAMAHA U3 professional upright, 5'10" Kawai grand piano, and a 7’ Steinway grand piano; one Korg Concert digital piano; one Allen organ; and several keyboards. A waiting room contains an upright piano for warm-up and features a listening room complete with stereo, television and educational materials. Computer work stations provide the latest technology for music theory and ear training.

| Work stations include computers equipped with the latest music education software. The computers provide high tech tools for theory and ear training. Music games and composition software are also available to enhance the student's learning and creavity.
